I'm going to South Beach...

Of course I had to throw a pic of Hunter in here...he's wearing my glasses cause he's already so smart! But with Colt and mine's bad eyes, he probably will end up with glasses at some point.
Ok, well not exactly. What I am doing is the South Beach Diet. I have been trying and failing miserably to lose weight. Those of you who knew me in high school remember that I was very little and when I went away to college I gained a little more weight. When I got married I was pretty ok with my weight, but then Colt started working at Domino's and then it has gone down hill since then. I have steadily gained weight and even though I have tried multiple time to take it off, I just can't. Now that I've had my first child losing the weight is just about impossible. It doesn't help that some of the meds I take make me gain weight but also make it impossible to lose. It has finally gotten to the point where I am just uncomfortable and I hate looking this way plus I have no energy. I'm so tired all the time which I always have been but it's getting really bad, and with a one-year-old to run after I need all the energy I can get. Another motivation is that Colt and I are going to Florida at the end of June and I would love to look half descent in a bathing suit; although because of hideous stretch marks a two piece will never again cross my mind. After all that, Colt and I have decided to try the South Beach Diet. I have heard many good things about it, read the book and I really do think that I can do it. Now whether Colt can do it is another story. The boy only like two vegetables, corn and frozen sweet peas, and he can't even have corn in the first phase. The only foods you can have are meat vegetables and dairy, so I'm hoping he will do ok, but we'll see. I also have doubts for me because the main focus is to get off sugar and bad carbs, well I can get off the carbs, but man do I love my sweets! I can have sugar-free things so that will help. Needless to say, this is going to be quite an undertaking and I could use all the prayers and encouragement I can get. My overall goal is to lose 35 lbs which I know will take a while, but I really want to do this. So everyone, wish me luck!

Hunter turns "1"!!!!!

Blowing out the candles on his Seasame Street cake.Digging into his own little cake.
Realized he loves birthday cake!
Opening birthday presents.

Yesterday my baby boy turned one! It was a great birthday and a wonderful party. We had the party at Paul and Sharon's house and a ton of people showed up! We counted about 43 people who came to celebrate Hunter's birthday with us. It was so wonderful to have everyone there (my mom and sis traveled from WV to come also!) to help celebrate his first year.

Here's a video of Hunter enjoying his birthday cake.
